Services, Curricula & Sample Schedule

Pilgrim Academy provides a challenging academic curriculum consistent with the Department of Education's mandated frameworks. The curriculum is individualized to meet each student's needs as described in his/her Individualized Educational Program (IEP). All subject content and classroom activities are delivered in small groups and within the therapeutic milieu.

The Academy uses a structured therapeutic system, which reinforces, highlights and acknowledges preferred and improved behaviors. Students receive therapeutic feedback throughout all periods of the school day. Within this model, the therapeutic management component serves as an instructional tool.

Student progress is more evident when families are involved. Families that want to be extensively involved in their child's academic program are more compatible with the Pilgrim Academy approach. Parent and family support is provided and designed to allow parents to actively participate in the educational and therapeutic process by engaging their unique knowledge of the challenges impacting their child's success.

Counseling services are provided to assist students to manage the interrupting forces in their personal and educational successes. Contact with collateral support providers such as outside treatment providers and agencies, ensures consistency and continuity of treatment approaches.
