May Programming – Open to Everyone!
The Autism Resource Center of the Arc of the South Shore is excited to offer our programming for the month of May. As we continue to support our families during the COVID-19 crisis, all programming will remain virtual. Programs are free. Children’s Yoga: Hosted by Christine of Little Bee Yoga, these classes are fun and offer many therapeutic benefits that help with focus, self-regulation, sequencing and motor planning while building strength and flexibility! (suggested supplies: yoga mat, towel, water).
Disney Trivia: Emmy Casagrande, Exploring Disney Animation teacher and passionate Disney aficionado invites you to join in a fun and interactive class that will allow Disney Fans to let their impressive Disney knowledge to shine through! Great social, stress-free group!
SENSational Story Time with a Yoga Twist: Enjoy a magical story time and therapeutic yoga class that will bring featured books to life! A limited number of sensory book kits are available each class for $10.00. Christine of Little Bee Yoga motivates children to be active while promoting the traditional aspects of yoga: meditation, breaching techniques, peace and relaxation.
Caregiver Support Group: Meet with other caregivers for friendship and support. This month, we will be joined by Finora Rodriques, MHC. All are welcome!
Drums Alive with Julie: Join Julie from Arts and Rec, LLC for an exciting drumming class. Drums Alive provides a “whole brain & whole body” workout which promotes physical, social and emotional health. Zoom Options: drum=fitness ball, plastic bucket, laundry basket or floor. Drum sticks=pool noodles cut in half, thunder sticks or wooden spoons.
Karaoke: “Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.” – Confusius. Rock your way into a karaoke sing-along with Virginia for a sensory friendly experience that celebrates music as a coping skill. Instruments welcome!
Exploring Disney Animation: This class explores memorable clips from popular Disney films by legendary Animators. Participants discuss important lessons and share thoughts on the highlighted films while socializing, singing, answering trivia and more! This class is best suited for ages 15+, however, anyone is welcome to sign on and check it out!
Disney Sing-a-Long for all Ages: Hosted by Patrick Birmingham, this fun group is designed for individuals of all ages to enjoy the benefits of signing along to popular songs from Disney films.
Trivia with Virginia: Join Virginia for a fun-filled evening of Trivia!!
Saturday Skill Builders: Join our popular respite program for a structured morning of social skills, therapeutic activity and fun!
