Summer Institute is an ESY program that is designed specifically for high school students with social and learning differences who are entering their Junior or Senior year, are on a diploma track, and demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to consider and explore transitional options beyond their high school years. Students will participate in pre and post assessments, skill building, and authentic experiences that will help build academic, executive functioning and social emotional learning. They will work on real life skills ranging from self-care, to navigating the community, to shopping and managing personal finances. Focus will be placed on increasing self-awareness, self advocacy skills and identifying future goals. Additionally, students will learn to enhance their skills for either employment or higher education opportunities beyond their high school career. Therapy and counseling services are provided in accordance with each student’s Individual Education Program.
