What can you expect from your experience at Pilgrim Area Collaborative?
First and foremost we are known for our personal attention. Our dedicated staff will be in regular contact with families from the onset of referral to the time when our students leave us to move on to their preferred higher educational or work experience. During your stay at Pilgrim Area Collaborative you and your child will receive personal attention from our Leadership Team, our teachers, therapists, counselors and nurses. We will share with you in celebrating the many successes your child will experience, and partner with you through any challenges that may arise. At Pilgrim Area Collaborative you are never alone.
What sets us aside from other special educational programs is our expert, caring staff. You will find no finer group of educators under one roof than here at Pilgrim Area Collaborative. Working here is not a job for our staff, but a passion for reaching all students. Our staff is dedicated to discovering the tools and strategies each child needs to be successful in the world. All of our professional staff hold current licensure in their respective educational areas. The majority of our staff hold Master’s degrees and several also hold Certificates of Advanced Graduate Studies and Doctoral degrees. At Pilgrim Area Collaborative you will be working with licensed, skilled educators.
You will be amazed by the rich offerings we have beyond the school day through our Pilgrim Area Collaborative Extended Services (PACES) programs. If we don’t have it, by all means reach out to our staff who will make every effort to develop it for you! To date through our PACES services team we offer in-home (or community) parent/caregiver training; after-school enrichment activities, life coaching, professional development, as well as program development and professional consultation to districts. At Pilgrim Area Collaborative Extended Services you will receive innovative, highly-responsive and individualized support from staff who are trained in the most current research-based approaches.
We have a solid, well-respected presence in the educational community. Pilgrim Area Collaborative has been delivering high-quality services to students, families, and districts since it was first established in 1976. Students, ages 3-22, with significant social emotional and/or learning challenges whose needs for support could not be met within their home school districts has always been and continues to be our primary focus. Pilgrim Area Collaborative provides programs and services to students and families from over 50 communities on the South Shore and Cape Cod. Students are referred to PAC by their local school districts. At Pilgrim Area Collaborative we are respected for having a solid presence in the educational community.
Our program locations are flexible in order to meet the needs of our students. Pilgrim Area Collaborative students are educated in substantially separate classrooms located in age-appropriate public schools within member school districts. In these programs, Pilgrim Area Collaborative students are provided opportunities to be included within typical education classes and activities as appropriate, and to be active participants in the school community, as well as the local municipality. Middle and high school students who need more intensive services outside of the public schools are educated in our Pilgrim Academy School building located in Plymouth. At Pilgrim Area Collaborative we have a variety of educational environments to suit the needs of the individual student.
